Fabricate Seasonal Panels for Muir Woods National Monument. Responses

The National Park Service, Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA)
has identified a requirement for the design and fabrication of five (5)
interpretive panels for Muir Woods National Monument (MUWO). All panels
will be in full color and will identically matching the style currently
in use at MUWO. Three panels measuring 30 inches wide by 34 inches deep
will be created as seasonal panels, one each for Spring, Summer and
Fall, and each composed of six original illustrations with associated
text. One panel measuring 36 inches wide by 54 inches deep will be
composed of 12 original illustrations to represent the yearly season of
nature. One panel measuring 36 inches wide by 54 inches deep will be
composed of 4 illustrations to accompany law enforcement messages on 4
overlay temporary/removable panels, and 12 illustrations to accompany
law enforcement messages. The design work includes: research for
illustrations and text; creation of original illustrations; layout and
design; full color proofs for review by park staff; text and
illustration editing after review; typesetting; provision of images
(separate) and images and layout of panels (complete) on CD-ROM for the
panel production and for future use by park staff. All production
items, including but not limited to the illustrations, shall become the
property of GGNRA. The fabrication of the five primary panels and five
emergency backup panels includes proof color of printouts, production
of the images in digital format on hard backing (such as aluminum) and
cover panels with clear protective coating. The government has
determined that the technical capability of the contractor is of
greater importance than price in the selection of the contractor.
Proposals will be evaluated subject to the following criteria listed in
order of descending preference: 1) demonstrated experiencein planning
and designing exhibit panels and bases; 2) demonstrated experience in
fabrication and installation of exhibit panels and bases; 3) local
office of prime contractor located within 150 miles of GGNRA
headquarters at Fort Mason, San Francisco, CA. This solicitation is Set
Aside for Small Business Concerns. The National Park Service welcomes
and encourages the participation of small disadvantaged and woman-owned
businesses. Solicitation documents will be available on or about
