command-wide license to use it's prot g -mentor matching instrument
tool. Elements of the procurement include a matching instrument, a

matching instrument tool will be used by the Air Force in its personnel
mentorship program to match proteges with mentors based on a
statistical correlation of talent and leadership styles. The instrument
will be used in Air Combat Command, consisting of approximately 30
bases and 100,000 personnel. Gallup Organization's matching instrument
tool offers the following features which are required by the Air
Force: requires forced responses from both mentors and proteges;
assesses leadership and talent; entire instrument is in a yes/no, or
column A/column B format, with no open-ended questions; ACCESS database
is used to track personnel information and responses: statistical
analysis is performed using ACCESS database in conjunction with SPSS
for Windows to execute a correlation on all talent/leadership items
with results then returned to the ACCESS database; protege-mentor
matches are based on selection from database print-out, not on
subjective panel recommendations; tool is self-sufficient and easily
customized by user, with technical support available from Gallup upon
request; and Gallop's product has been validated through extensive use
in corporate industry, with significant reliability data available.
