The National Institute of Standards and Technology's (NIST's) Plant Division has a requirement for the annual inspection of approximately 230 cranes/hoists in accordance with CFR-29 regulations. The contractor shall prepare and submit complete inspection results indicating condition status, with applicable standards and codes. The contractor shall also provide appliques certifying, with date, units that passed inspection and are corrected to pass. THE INSPECTING CONTRACTOR SHALL BE INELIGIBLE TO BID ON ANY POTENTIAL CRANE/HOIST REPAIR REQUIREMENTS. This requirement will be set aside for 100% small businesses under SIC code 7389 and the small business size standard is $5 million. The Government seeks to award a Fixed Price type contract. The anticipated period of performance is for a base period of one (1) year with four (4) option years. Inspections will be conducted at NIST, Gaithersburg, Maryland.
