The US Army TACOM-ARDEC is seeking potential sources for the Load, Assemble and Pack (LAP) of 60mm Mortar Ammunition -- High Explosive (HE) and Practice. The planned production contract includes a base year award for 60mm M720A1 HE mortar ammunition with multi-option fuze for approximately 40,822 rounds with four years of options. It is anticipated that the options will also cover potential requirements for 60mm XM768 HE mortar ammunition with point detonating fuzes and 60mm XM769 Full Range Practice mortar ammunition. Initial delivery is anticipated to be within 18 months from date of award for the basic quantity. First delivery of option quantities is anticipated to be within 24 months of exercise of the option. The LAP effort will involve the assembly of Government Furnished Property (GFM): fuzes, shell bodies, fins, propelling charges and ignition cartridges plus packing of these assembled cartridges into containers and overpacks at a production rate of 10,000 per month. The M720A1 HE and XM768 HE LAP effort will include explosive handling (melt pour) into the GFM shell body. Required inspections will include radiographic evaluation of HE castings within the shell body in accordance with a continuous sampling plan. Information to be submitted should include as a minimum your organization name/address/point of contact identification, capabilities, facilities, successful experience in loading, assembling and packing similiar ammunition and whether the company is large or small business.
