B -- MICROFLORA AND HYDROLOGICAL RESEARCH STUDY DUE 031299 POC Trish Fresquez-Hernandez, Contract Specialist, 505-285-4641, extension 11 This serves as a Sources Sought Notice to locate qualified business sources to conduct a Microflora and Hydrological Research Study. The following information is provided to do a Market Survey of industry to see if there are any potential contractors who have the skills and knowledge required to complete this effort. This announcement is NOT a formal solicitation and is NOT a request for proposal. Availability of any formal solicitation will be announced separately. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Work under this project is to provide the National Park Service, El Morro National Monument, Ramah, New Mexico, with useable and applicable information and procedures to better preserve the historic inscriptions located at El Morro National Monument. The focus of this study is on microflora and hydrology. The goal of this project and the resulting management program is to fully understand the mechanisms of sandstone deterioration at El Morro National Monument and propose methods which the National Park Service can use to mitigate the deteriorating influences of microflora and water on the surface of stone where inscriptions are at risk. An additional and related goal is to assess the current (1999) condition of the inscriptions in order to provide the park management with a clear understanding of the severity, urgency, and priority of condition. The Government will NOT respond to any request for a solicitation package in response to this request for information. Respondents must indicate their business size status, i.e., small, large, etc. Small business concerns are those businesses which have maximum annual receipts of less than $5 million dollars.
