These services will be procured through Telephonics Corporation, 815 Broad Hollow Road, Farmingdale, NY 11735 on a sole source basis citing statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition title 10, U.S.C. 2304 (1) Only One Responsible Source and No other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements, as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Telephonics as the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the AN/TPX-42A(V) and Beacon Processing systems and is the only company who currently possesses the technical knowledge and expertise to perform the required support. Due to the proprietary nature of the systems, no other source may perform maintenance on the systems. Services to be performed include a base year beginning 1 October 1999 through 30 September 2000(3,865 man-hours) and four one year option periods (3,430 man-hours for each option year). The work shall be performed on various ship and shore installations. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. Note 23 applies.
