and D Streets, S.W., ROB-3, Room 3616, Washington, 20202-4447 U -- INNOVATIVE APPROACHES TO EXPAND THE CAPACITY OF SCHOOL REFORM
MODEL DEVELOPERS POC Contact Helen Chang, 202 708-9740 NOTICE OF PUBLIC
MEETING -- THIS IS NOT AN ANNOUNCMENT OF A SOLICITATION. -- The United
States Department of Education will hold a public meeting regarding a
proposed procurement to significantly increase the capacity of school
reform model developers to serve districts and schools (including
rural schools) seeking to implement comprehensive reform models. The
Department believes that an effective way to increase this capacity is
to contract directly with organizations capable of providing a broad
and innovative range of services and financing options to reform model
developers. These services may include planning, management, financial
management, marketing, training and technology-related assistance.
Through this procurement, the Department seeks to identify and support
organizations that will provide developers with high-quality, enhanced
capacity to directly serve schools and districts. This meeting will
take place on Thursday, March 4, 1999, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in
the Board Room of the National Educational Research Policy and
Priorities Board, 80 F Street NW, Washington, DC (Room 100). This
meeting will include a brief presentation by Department staff, followed
by the opportunity for audience members to engage in a discussion of
this proposed procurement. An electronic summary will later be placed
on the Department's Website for the Comprehensive School Reform
Demonstration Program http://www.ed.gov/OESE/compreform. All interested
parties are invited to attend. Posted 02/23/99 (I-SN301207). (0054) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0108 19990225\U-0002.SOL)
