J -- BQM-34 SUPPORT SERVICES SOL N68936-99-R-0067 DUE 041299 POC Nickie Smith, Contract Specialist 805/989/0678 Diane Safford, Contracting Officer The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division (NAWCWD), Point Mugu, CA intends to award a contract on a sole source basis to Teledyne Ryan Aeronautical (TRA), 2701 Harbor Drive San Diego, CA 92101-1085 for continued engineering support services pursuant to the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source. TRA was awarded the original contract under a Basic Ordering Agreement F04606-94-G-0007. The intended contract will be cost plus fixed fee, indefinite quantity for a period of 5 years, three base years plus two option years to commence at contract award, approximately August 1999. Estimated manhours for the three year base period is 10,950 and for each of the option years is 3,650. Tasking for this requirement involves support for the BQM-34S/AQM-34L/M Target Systems including field engineering and logistical and material support from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). TRA is the only contractor who has priority OEM data for the design, integration, and testing of new target capabilities for this program. TRA has the required familiarity, expertise and unique knowledge of the requirement necessary to continue support for the BQM-34S/AQM-34L/M. TRA is the sole designer and manufacturer of BQM-34S and AQM-34L/M Target Systems.
