E-MAIL: SSgt Jackie Williams, jacquelin.williams@shaw.af.mil. This is a sources sought synopsis for parties interested in submitting a quotation for building and installing a map table/cabinet. This requirement is below the threshold for formal synopsizing. This will be the only form of synopsis issued for this requirement. This announcement is a request for information only and is not a Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Quotation (RFQ), or announcement of solicitation and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. An award will not be made on offers/proposals received in response to this notice. The Government will not provide payment for any material provided in response to this synopsis, nor will the Government return any material provided. The work includes but is not limited to providing all labor, tools, material, equipment, and transportation necessary to build and install one map table/cabinet. The construction shall be mortise and tenon with glued and stapled joints, also using hardwood blocking. The sides, face and bottom shall be " plywood, shelves shall be 5/8" plywood and the backs shall be " plywood. All exposed surfaces shall be covered with laminated plastic. Base units shall be made in sections as indicated to fit through a standard 3' x 6'8" door. Install self-closing, 3-way adjustable concealed hinges. Hinges shall provide 165-degree swing. Drawer slides shall be full extension type with 100-lb capacity. Drawer and door pulls shall be "U" shaped aluminum with satin finish. Drawer units shall have legal size hanging file system. Light table section shall have a U.L. approved, 3 tube, 2' light system with a minimum of 6' cord. Construct one (1) map table/cabinet and install in building 1605, Shaw AFB, SC. All interested parties should submit their response no later than 12 March 1999. If interested parties want to submit their designs or ideas ofa similar product, they may do so in response to this Request for Information; and they will be evaluated by the government.
