GRAPPLING HOOK, COLLAPSIBLE (GHC) REQUEST FOR QUOTATION DAAD16-99-T-1006. This synopsis/solicitation is amended for the purpose of correcting the website address and name given for the Central Contractor Registry and expanding the information given for testing on the Instron Machine. The original synopsis/solicitation was posted in CBDNet on February 12, 1999 and in the printed issue on February 17, 1999. The sentence which reads "In order to be eligible for award, contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry (http://edi.disa.mil/)" (12th line down) is CHANGED to read "In order to be eligible for award, contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (http://ccr.edi.disa.mil)." AFTER the sentence that reads "These GHCs will undergo tensile tests on an Instron machine to ascertain if the GHCs can meet the Government's strength requirement of one thousand six hundred and eight (1,608) lbs. with "no modification":" (26th line down) the following data is INSERTED:"During testing on the Instron machine the shackle of the GHC is attached to the Instron's bottom fixture with the use of a one inch bolt. The GHC is attached to the upper fixture by securing the mid-point on one of the hook elements of the GHC onto a 12 inch long by 2.25 inch steel bar. Using a constant rate of speed an increasing load is applied to the element's mid-point until it either breaks or bends beyond use.
