Whalen, Contracting Officer, (570) 821-7222 The Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania Veterans Affairs Medical Center will be renovating an existing operational surgical suite area. A/E services are required to develop this project. The surgical suite area consists of approximately 50 rooms and corridors, encompassing approximately 10,000 square fet, and is loicated within the main bilding on the 4th floor of a 5-floor north wng. The A/E firm will be responsible for developing all drawings, cost estimates and specifications required to establish a construction contract to accomplish this work. Asbestos containing materials will be a design factor and a professional industrial hygienist on the design team is a requirement. Specialized experience in surgical suite design will be a determining factor in the A/E evaluatin and selection process. The area of consideration is limited to A/E firms located within 150 mile radius of the medical center determined by the Rand McNally Travel Map. Estimated Cost Range for Construction -- $2,000,000 -- $5,000,000. This is not a request for proposals, only SF 254's and SF 255's are required to be submitted. SIC Code is 8712.
