contract is for an Indefinite Quantity Contract for Architect/Engineer
(A/E) Services for preparation of drawings, specifications and cost
estimates for competitive procurement of construction work for U.S.
Postal Service Facilities in the New York District (Manhattan & the
Bronx). The contract is for a guaranteed minimum amount of $5,000.00
for one (1) year with individual work orders being issued. Each work
order will be negotiated as an individual project. Work orders for any
one project cannot exceed $100,000.00 and the total dollar amount of
work orders issued cannot exceed $500,000.00 for each 12-month period.
The contract is for one (1) year and may be renewed for four (4) one
year periods providing the total contract amount does not exceed
$2,500,000.00. The U.S. Postal Service reserves the right to select one
or more firms. The A/E firm shall be architecturally-oriented, fully
CAD/D capable of using Postal Service Building Design Standards on CD
on Auto/Cad files, with in-house mechanical/electrical/structural
capabilities or have consultants with those disciplines. Firms will be
considered in each instance in the following order of preference: 1)
local (within the area noted above); 2) firms with past Postal
experience on Repair & Alteration projects; and 3) all others. To the
fullest extent, the U.S. Postal Service welcomes the participation of
woman and/or minority-owned/operated A/E firms. Firms that have the
qualifications to perform the services described are invited to
described are invited to submit a completed SF 255 (Architect/Engineer
and Related Services Questionnaire for Specific Project), a completed
SF 254 (Architect/Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire) as well
as one for each of its proposed consultants to the address shown above.

postmarked no later than April 12, 1999 (for overnight mail we
recommend using Express Mail). Selections will be made using submitted
SF 254s and SF 255s. Interested firms with more than one office must
indicate on their SF 255 the staffing composition of the office in
which the work will be performed. Firms will be considered as local
only if their sole office is in the local geographic area or they have
a local branch office and all the architectural, mechanical and
electrical design, coordination and management of the project will be
performed in that office. There is no restriction on the geographic
location of consultants. The contract contains a requirement for
evidence of current errors and omissions insurance. It is prohibited to
pay any fee, commission, percentage or brokerage fee to any person or
firm contingent upon or resulting from award of a contract for this
project. PERSONAL VISITS AND PHONE CALLS for the purpose of discussing
this project ARE NOT PERMITTED. No other general notification of this
project will be made. Submissions will not be retained or returned.
