This project provides for approximately 6000 added square feet of open work space to existing Building 5204 by expanding the existing east work bay. The existing bay enclosure, including roof, walls, and a portion of the floor will be demolished, and existing overhead doors will be removed. The existing wall dividing the work bay from the adjacent offices and support spaces will be sealed during construction to allow continuing operations and occupancy in the building. New building construction associated with the expansion includes drilled piers, structural steel roof frame with built-up roofing, re-installing overhead doors, and CMU masonry walls. Adjunct construction includes a redefined entry vestibule, an additional personnel exit door, exterior trash bin screening, and new exterior concrete pavement. Bid options include a mezzanine for light storage, a paging system, and reroofing the west portion of the building not included in the expansion. Duration of contract is 235 days. Bids from large business firms must comply with FAR Clause 52.219-9 regarding the requirement for submission of a Subcontracting plan. Failure to submit a Subcontracting Plan and Pre-Award Information at time of bid opening may result in rejection of bid. The Fort Worth District subcontracting goals are for specified percentages of the contractor's total planned subcontract amount to be placed with the following: Small Business, 61.2%; Small Disadvantaged Business, 9.1%; Women-Owned Small Business, 4.5%; and HBCU/MI, 5.5%.
