Quantity: 1; Custom Rotary Hearth Furnace with the following
characteristics. The government requires an installed "turn key"
Forging Furnace for heating ferrous and non-ferrous metals prior to
forging. The furnace shall be of a rotary design having a hearth to
support the charge and a single door. The furnace shall be designed to
operate on a fuel supply of 1000 British thermal Unit per cubic foot
of natural gas at three to six-inch water column pressure. The furnace
shall be of the direct fired design with a single calve control
combustion system capable of adjustment to achieve a furnace atmosphere
that is either neutral, oxidizing, or reducing. Basic Operating
Performance Requirements: operating range: 1350 to 2400 (+/- 25 degrees
F of set point) Max load capacity 250 pounds, temperature range of 0
degrees F to 120 degrees F, Relative humidity up to 100%
non-condensing, primary poser of 460 VAC (+/-5%), 3 phase, 60 Hz,
Compressed air at 90 pounds /square inch and 100 cubicfeet/ minute. The
lining of the furnace shall consist of ITC monolithic ceramic fiber
modules and the entire inside of the furnace shall be coated with ITC
ceramic coating. No powder shredded or granular material shall be used
for insulating purposes. Shell: The shell shall be deigned for and
suitable to the heating portion of the forge operation. The shell shall
be constructed of steel plate, not less than 3/16" in thickness and
reinforced with steel members and welded throughout. Work height shall
be 48 inches +/- 2 inches above the floor. The work chamber shall be
48" wide, 48" deep, and 24" high. Anticipated award date: 23 APR 99.

Shipyard, Bremerton, WA. All responsible sources may submit offer/bid
