has a requirement for a contractor to estimate the costs and time
required for moving scientific equipment and cost for fabrication of a
new aerosol wind tunnel. The equipment is currently located in
Research Triangle Park, NC and will be moved from its present location
into the new EPA building currently under construction in Research
Triangle Park, NC. This requirement is for estimates only. The
contractor shall estimate the time and costs of disassembly,
preparation for moving, moving, and reassembly of the equipment. This
equipment includes such laboratory instruments as balances, particle
analyzers, microscopes, and work benches. The contractor shall also
estimate costs for moving the existing aerosol wind tunnel facility to
the new building. The contractor shall estimate costs to move five
existing ambient aerosol research chambers ranging in size from 100 to
1200 cubic feet. The contractor shall estimate costs for the
fabrication of a new Aerosol Wind Tunnel in the new building. A list of
the equipment to be moved and target requirements for the new wind
tunnel will be included in the Request for Quotation (RFQ). A
pre-proposal site visit will be scheduled approximately one week after
the RFQ is issued. The exact date, time, and place will be included in
the RFQ. A copy of the blueprints of the wind tunnel location in the
new building will be available for review at the pre-proposal site
visit. This requirement will be issued under simplified acquisition
procedures. This is NOT a small business set-aside, however, the SIC
Code is 8999 which has a size standard of $5 million. The Request for
Quotation will be issued on or about April 8, 1999 and will be
available via the Internet World Wide Web at
http://www.epa.gov/oam/rtp_cmd only. Hard copies or diskettes will not
be available. Telephone and FAX requests will not be honored. It will
be your responsibility to frequently check the same site where the RFQ
is posted for any amendments. See numbered Note 26. Posted 03/24/99
