This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-6. This RFQ has the following line items(s): Line Item 0001 -- DLT Tape Requirements: Two Separate Systems (1- NT using Backup Exec and 1 -- Unix using Dallas Tool). DLT 4000, 20 Tape Cartridge minimum in one system not to be daisy chained together, 4 Drives minimum, must be in one case not daisy chained in separate systems; Auto Changer, Barcode Reader, System width not to exceed 20", Single Ended Connection to SCSI, Min 600MB uncompressed, 1.02 TB Compressed, 1 Year Warranty. Line Item 0002 -- Barcode Labels (QTY 100). Line Item 0003 -- DLT Tapes (minimum QTY 40). Line Item 0004 -- Clean Cartridges (Qty 7). Vendors should send system specifications along with their quotes. This requirement will be awarded based on the best value to the government. To determine best value, we may consider other factors than price (i.e., vendor past performance, item quality, warranty, trade-ins, probable life of the item, maintenance availability, etc.). All information technology equipment supplied must be energy star compliant and year 2000 compliant. Year 2000 compliant means information technology that accurately processes date/time data (including, but not limited to, calculating, comparing, and sequencing) from, into, and between the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, and the years 1999 and 2000 and leap year calculations. Furthermore, year 2000 compliant information technology, when used in combination with other information technology, shall accurately process date/time data if the other information technology properly exchanges date/time data with it.
