Sources Sought. This is not an RFP. The Naval Air Systems Command
(NAVAIR) is conducting a market survey for aircraft performance
software for the E-6B Aircraft. The Navy E-6 fleet consists of 16
Strategic Command and Control Aircraft with digital avionics and
navigational flight systems, powered by four CFM-56-2A-2 engines.
Information is sought regarding aircraft performance software that is
nonintegrated, portable, and windows-based. The application should
include weight and balance data, takeoff performance data, and landing
performance data capabilities, at a minimum. Performance calculations
will be based upon performance charts provided to the Navy by Boeing.
The software must calculate necessary adjustments to performance data
for changes in meteorological conditions, equipment degrades,
emergency situations, and non-standard flight conditions, in accordance
with provided performance charts. Requisite training for utilization of
the software should be addressed. Send two copies of the response,
including pricing information, NLT 30 MAY 1999 to: Commander, Naval Air

516, Suite 3, Patuxent River, MD 20670-1607. NAVAIR will protect
proprietary and classified information from unwanted disclosure. In
addition to the written submissions, briefings/demonstrations of the
response will be allowed upon request. Briefings/demonstrations will be
limited to one hour. No government funding will be provided. This
Request for Information (RFI) is not a contract, or a request for
proposal, promise to contract, or a commitment of any kind. The
Government will not assume liability for costs incurred by any offeror
for any data offered for examination. The Government reserves the
right to review data at its own discretion and use appropriately. The
Government is anticipating a competitive procurement to be awarded;
however, the information in this RFI is subject to change and does not
bind the Government to any particular acquisition strategy. Posted
