the Atterbury Job Corps Center and Indypendence Satellite Center,
Request for Proposals (RFPs) for the continued operation of the
Atterbury Job Corps Center located at Hospital Road, P.O.Box 187,
Edinburg, Indiana 46124 and Indypendence Satellite Center, 17 W. Market
St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46204 will be available approximately May
20, 1999 on the World Wide Web at
http://www.wdsc.org/jobcorps/schedule.html. It is anticipated that the
resultant contract will cover the period February 1, 2000 through
January 31, 2002 plus three Governmental unilateral options of one year
each. The approximate average center capacity for Atterbury will be 650
students (450 residential males, 200 residential females, 0
non-residential males and 0 non-residential females) and center
capacity for Indypendence will be 100 non-residential females for a
total of 750 students. Job Corps is a residential training program for
economically disadvantaged youth, between the ages of 16-24. The
contractor shall provideacademic and vocational training; operate a
counseling and residential living program and provide the following
support services: Health Services, Processing of Student Records,
Discipline System, Clothing Issue, Mail Services and Legal Services.
The contractor will also provide overall center management and
administration, staff training, financial management, procurement and
property management, facility operations and maintenance, security and
safety services, community relations and public information. In
addition, the contractor will provide Outreach/Admissions services at
the Indypendence Center. All activities will be in compliance with
applicable DOL/Job Corps regulations, policies and handbooks. A
walk-through inspection of the Atterbury facility, followed immediately
by a Pre-Proposal Conference, will be convened promptly at 10:00 A.M.
local time on Wednesday, May 26, 1999. Subsequently, a brief
walk-through of the Indypendence Satellite Center, 17 W. Market St.,
Indianapolis, Indiana 46204, will be conducted for all interested
parties. Upon entering the facility, offerors must stop at the front
desk where they will be given directions for the conference. We
recommend you download the RFP from our website prior to attending the
Pre-Proposal Conference. All questions prior to the Pre-Proposal
Conference should be submitted in writing. Proposals in response to
this RFP will be due no later than 12:00 P.M. NOON, local time on
Monday, July 19, 1999, at the following address: U.S. Department of

Chicago, Illinois 60604. All responsible sources may submit a proposal
