The project consists of furnishing all materials, labor, supervision and equipment required to complete the proposed project at the Francis S. Gabreski Airport (ANG), Westhampton Beach, NY in strict compliance with plans and specifications supplied by the Government. The overall scope of work includes the removal of existing bituminous concrete pavements, pavement markings, chain link fence, electrical switchgear and switchyard, utility poles, wiring and the main base identification sign. New work includes the construction of new bituminous concrete pavements, construction of drainage improvements, overlayment of existing pavements, and the application of pavement markings. New work also includes the construction of a new main base identification sign and the installation of traffic control signs, installation of new chain link fence, steel picket fence with brick pillars and motorized gates, modifications to the existing guard house inlcluding the construction of a brick facade and the replacement of the existing HVAC unit. Also included, is the installation of a new main base supply weather proof switchgear station including connections to the electrical service for the facility, coordination with the local utility company, underground duct tanks, meters and light poles. The construction schedule and all elements of the project will be closely coordinated with the Base Civil Engineer. The magnitude of the project is estimated to be between $100,000 and $500,000. The anticipated construction period is 120 calendar days after acknowledgement of Notice to Proceed. IFB DAHA30-99-B0004 will be issued on or about 26 May 1999, with a bid opening date of on or about 29 June 1999. A pre-bid conference will be held on 10 June 1999 at the Francis S.
