COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 12,1999 PSA#2344NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT FOR EXPERT OPINION AND
TRAINING TO THE CONCESSIONS PROGRAM. Under the authority of FAR
6.302-1, the National Park Service (NPS) intends to enter into a
non-competitive contract to provide expert opinions and training as it
relates to the National Parks Omnibus Management of 1998 for the
Concessions Program. The Concessions Program is responsible for
providing the necessary and appropriate accommodations, facilities, and
services for park visitors under concession authorizations with private
individuals or corporations, and to make sure that such facilities and
services are provided in a manner consistent to the highest degree
possible with the preservation and conservation of park areas.
Programming costs for this requirement by any other contractor would
jeopardize the continuity of services already provided. Therefore, IAW
authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) as implemented in FAR 6.302-1, the
Government intends to enter into negotiations on a non-competitive
basis with Lars Hanslin within 30 days after the publication of this
notice. However, all information received by this agency shall be
considered. A determination not to open the requirement to competition
based on responses received to this notice is solely within the
discretion of the agency. This synopsis may represent the only notice
of this action. E-MAIL: www.nps.gov, dee_brown@nps.gov. Posted 05/10/99
