The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Berkeley Research Associates, Incorporated, Springfield, Virginia 22150 for research and service assistance for the NIST Photometry Project. The work shall include: 1) Building the AC/DC calibration source system for the 2.5m integrating sphere; 2) Experiment on the AC/DC technique for use in the detector-based luminous flux calibration facility; 3) Performing experiments for realization of the total spectral radiant flux scale using the integrating sphere system; 4) Performing measurements needed for the maintenance of the NIST photometric units including the flashing light photometric unit; 5) Building the hardware and developing the programming to improve the measurement systems for the integrating sphere and the photometric bench; and 6) Providing support for maintaining the High Accuracy Cryogenic Radiometer. The period of performance is for five months with an option for an additional seven month period. F.O.B. Destination, Gaithersburg, Maryland. Work shall be performed at the NIST Facility in Gaithersburg, Maryland. This is a sole source requirement because this is a continuation of an effort performed by the vendor under order 867058.
