K -- REFURBISHING VICTIM RESCUE UNITS (VRU'S) SOL RFQ99-Q-056 DUE 051999 POC Contact: Kathleen Wilson (202)/435-6940; fax (202)/435-7138 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number RFQ99-Q-56 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-10. This solicitation is a 100% set aside for small businesses. The SIC code is 7699 Repair Shops and related services, and the small business size standard is $5,000,000. The U.S. Secret Service has a requirement for refurbishing a minimum ten and up to forty-eight (48) victim rescue units (vru's) on an as needed basis after equipment has been used at fire training courses at the Maryland Fire Institute. The period of performance will be 12 months beginning June 1, 1999 through May 31, 2000.The Government will ship to the contractor the units to be refurbished. Contractor shall return the refurbished units, FOB Destination, to the US Secret Service, James J. Rowley Training Center, 9200 Powder Mill Road, R-2, Laurel, Maryland 20708 Attn: SA C. Tyler. Delivery of refurbished units shall be within thirty (30) days of receipt of units. The Government intends to award an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract, to the offeror whose quotation will be the most price advantageous to the Government. All responsible offerors shall mail quotes to the U.S. Secret Service, Procurement Division, 1310L Street, Suite 730, Washington, DC 20223, Attn: Kathleen Wilson; no later than the 12:00 P.M.
