States Coast Guard Maintenance and Logistic Command, Pacific intends to
contract for the Drydocking and Repairs of CGC ASSATEAGUE homeported
Sand Island Access Road, Honolulu, HI. This procurement is under the
Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The work is to
include and not limited to: Hull plating renewal, Ultrasonic
measurement of hull plating thickness, exhaust port hull plating
renewal, underwater body inspection, exhaust port hull plating renewal,
fuel oil tank clean and inspect, sewage and turbid water tank clean &
inspect, electric meter overhaul, electric meter calibration,
fathometer transducer renewal, miscellaneous spaces and tanks vent
piping modifications, ventilation modifications, engineroom mechanical
vent closure, sea valve overhaul, steering gear hydraulic maintenance,
rudder/rudder stock removal and reinstallation, fin stabilizer system
quadrennial overhaul, hawse pipe replacement, gray water piping
replacement, sewage piping renewal, void and bilgepreservation,
underwater body preservation, polymeric deck coverings replacement,
repair and resealing, temporary service, and dry-docking/hauling. The
period of performance is 20 September 1999 and ending 29 October 1999.
The solicitation will be issued on about 16 June 1999. For Women-Owned
and Disadvantage Business Enterprises, The Department of Transportation
(DOT) Minority, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization
has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged
enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for
transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rates to
provide accounts receiveable financing. The maximum line of credit is
