includes furnishing all labor, materials and equipment necessary for
interior demolition and renovation of approximately 21,000 gsf of the
Pathology Laboratory located on the third floor of the VA Medical
Center, Miami, FL. This project also includes the removal and
replacement of the HVAC system serving this area located on the second
floor, renovation/remodeling of the outpatient laboratory on the
ground floor, and other associated work as described in the
Construction Documents. The work includes all general construction,
asbestos abatement, demolition, renovation and mechanical and
electrical work required making the facility fully functioning. The
general contractor is responsible for the proper disposal of all
demolition and construction debris. The estimate cost range is between
$2,000,000 and $5,000,000. This project is a Small Business Set Aside.
The size standard is $17.0 million. Contractor must be located within
a 50-mile radius of the medical center. Bidding materials will be
restricted to one set per contractor and will be on a "first come first
serve basis". A total of 40 sets of bidding materials will be
available. A non-refundable amount of $100.00 for the bidding materials
is required in the form of a check, i.e. company, cashiers or money
order. Note: no personnel checks will be accepted. Checks must be
addressed to the Contracting Officer and made payable to the VA Medical
Center, Miami, FL. Bidding materials can be obtained at the issuing
office or by written application. Written application shall be in the
form of the company's letterhead, which includes the company's complete
name, address, office telephone and FAX number and a contract person.
Solicitation package will be issued o/a June 15, 1999. A pre-proposal
conference will be held on July 1, 1999 at 10:00 AM. Attendance at the
pre-proposal conference is strongly recommended, but is not mandatory.
