Z -- 480 VOLT ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION UPGRADE SOL 1431-3K15-99 DUE 072799 POC Contracting Officer, Brenda Wood 301-504-1170 Pre-solicitation Notice -- The Contractor shall provide the complete installation, start up, testing and upgrading of the 480 volt electrical distribution system. The 480 volt upgrade consists of providing a new electrical switchgear building adjacent to the existing switchgear building. The existing two oil filled transformers and two dry type transformers shall be replaced with two new oil filled transformers. They shall be fed from the 15kv switchgear in the boiler house with a feeder from the A side and one from the B side. The secondary side of the transformers shall be connected to a 480 volt drawout power switchgear with an automatic main-tie-main control scheme. Molded case circuit breakers shall be connected to this switchgear to feed main distribution located in the same room These panels shall be connected to all existing circuits now feeding Buildings 101 and 100. The work is to be conducted at the Plum Island Animal Disease Center, Greenport, New York. The Estimated Cost of Constructionfor this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Time for completion of work will be 240 calendar days from the date of issuance of Notice to Proceed. A pre-bid meeting at the facility is tentatively scheduled for July 13, 1999.
