70 -- GENERAL PURPOSE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY EQUIPMENT SOL HQ-99-51 DUE 060499 POC Jackie Francis, Contract Specialist, (202) 616-2330, John Russo, Contracting Officer, (202) 305-4600 The Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS)intends to make an award, for a base year and one option year, on a sole source basis to Information Spectrum, Inc. (ISI), 7611 Little River Turnpike, Suite 300E, Annandale, Virginia 22003, to acquire printer supplies for the Sandia printers. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The proposed action is for supplies/services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The Government believes that only one responsible source can provide the supplies/services that will satisfy the agency requirements. The Government intends to acquire commercial items using FAR Part 12. INS requires ribbons, print heads and other consumable items for Sandia Imaging 7R Multi Station Printers. The 7R Multi Station Printer is one of several commercial components of the Integrated Card Production System (ICPS). The products must meet the specifications of the 7R Multi Station Printer as set forth by the printer manufacturer, Sandia Imaging. A Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition has been prepared in support of this acquisition. Firms that recognize and can provide the required items and services described above are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. All responses received within 3 days of the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
