requesting quotations for cemetery operations at the Richmond National
Cemetery Complex, Richmond, VA, covering the period October 1, 1999
(base period), through September 30, 2000, with four (4) 1-year options
to extend the term of the contract through September 30, 2004.
Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment and materials necessary
to perform the following work: Interment operations, grounds
maintenance operations, to include mowing, trimming, curb edging,
fertilzation, aeration, thatching, liming, overseeding, leaf and twig
removal, gravesite maintenance, trash and debris removal; preparation
and set-up for ceremonial activities (Memorial Day and Veterans Day);
grave marker and headstone operations (receiving, setting, raising,
realigning and cleaning). The Richmond National Cemetery Complex
consists of six national cemeteries: Richmond National Cemetery
(Richmond, VA); Fort Harrison National Cemetery (Richmond, VA); Seven
Pines National Cemetery (Sandston, VA); Cold Harbor National Cemetery
(N. Mechanicsville, VA); City Point National Cemetery (Hopewell, VA);
and Glendale National Cemetery (Richmond, VA). This acquisition is 100
percent set-aside for small business concerns. Standard Industrial
Classification (SIC) Code 0782 and a size standard of $5 million are
applicable. All responsible small business concerns may submit an
offer. Requests for a hard copy of the solicitation must be in writing
to the contracting officer and accompanied by a check in the amount of
Five Dollars ($5.00) (non-refundable) payable to "U.S. Department of
Veterans Affairs." No telephone requests will be accepted. Hard copy
solicitations will be issued via the ordinary mails on or about June
18, 1999. Electronic solicitations may be obtained FREE OF CHARGE on or

available at the URL. Offerors are advised they are responsible for
