INVITATION FOR SALE & REMOVAL BULK FUEL STORAGE TANKS & FACILITIES The U.S. Army Engineer District, Alaska, is issuing Invitation For Bids No. 99-1 for the sale and removal of 17 fuel storage tanks, together with all aboveground ancillary fuel piping and certain related facilities. The tanks are located at the Whittier-Anchorage POL Pipeline Terminal (Tank Farm), Whittier, Alaska. This disposal action consists of dismantling and removal of all tanks without removal of the concrete pads. All underground piping, affixed or attached to the tanks, is to be cut below ground level, capped, and sealed. All work must be completed by October 15, 1999. Sealed bids will be accepted until 10:00 a.m., local time, July 1, 1999, at which time the bids will be publicly opened.
