The Bassett Army Community Hospital, Urgent Care Center (UCC), at Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska requires the services of a General Practice Physician to support a population of 21,000. Services include acute episodic and urgent care. The UCC is primarily a walk-in clinic with a maximum of 3 patient appointments scheduled per hour. The UCC is a 24 hour, 7 day a week operation that includes Federal Holidays. Scheduled hours shall be from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. (10 hours). Routinely, the contractor shall provide clinical services for no less than 3 days (30 hours) and no more than 4 days (40 hours) per week. In extraordinary situations, the contractor may be required to work up to 2 extended hours per day or 1 extended day per week, but will not be required to perform more than 12 hours per day or 50 hours per week. The Physician shall possess, as a minimum, a D.O. or M.D. and completion of an accredited medical, surgical, or primary care internship. Board Certified/Board Eligible is not required, but is preferred. Malpractice insurance is not required. Two personal service contracts will be awarded as a result of this solicitation. The contracts will be awarded for a base year with four one-year option periods that may be exercised by the Government.
