AMI-American Management, Inc. as prime contractor to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Multifamily REO program, is soliciting bids from qualified firms for the provision of demolition services at Benton Square Apartments, 2763 E. 27th Street (and other scattered addresses), Kansas City, MO. THE DEMOLITION WILL NOT REQUIRE ASBESTOS ABATEMENT. Estimated job cost is less than $300,000. Bid bonds will be required of all offerors. Payment and performance bonds will be required of the selected contractor prior to commencement of work. Benton Square Apartments is located within a historic district. Final issuance of a contract will be subject to final approvals of the demolition plan by historic preservation authorities, anticipated to be completed by August 1, 1999 (MOA has been fully executed by HUD and SHPO). Completion of the job is required within sixty (60) days of Notice to Proceed issuance. All costs associated with the demolition shall be direct pass-through costs under the cost-reimbursement portion of AMI's prime contract with HUD. Offerors must be fully licensed and capable of performance of the work in order to have their bid submission considered. No offeror shall subcontract more than fifty (50%) percent of the total contract cost or work effort, and all offerors shall fully indemnify and hold harmless both AMI and the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
