(760) 939-9656 The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division,
(NAWCWPNS), China Lake, CA is seeking information on the manufacturers
of explosives storage magazines for military applications. The
Ordnance Evaluation Branch, Code 478400D, of NAWCWPNS, has been tasked
to demonstrate a design for a readily transportable magazine to be
used by the Air Force's explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) personnel.
The magazine will have to demonstrate a reduced explosive safety
quantity distance (ESQD) arc with a maximum credible event (MCE) of one
for the detonation of an ordnance device with a net explosive weight
(NEW) of 1.25 pounds. The magazine must survive such an event and
contain the blast with the door intact and closed. The intent of this
request is a survey of available manufacturers of explosive storage
magazines for military applications that are capable of supplying
magazines with modifications and drawings upon demand. Contractors
should appropriately mark any data that is proprietary or has
restricted data rights. All submittals must be unclassified, however,
classified data may be referenced to enable a data request to be
submitted. This RFI will close 12 July 1999. Those interested in
