The following information is provided to assist the Air Force in conducting a Market Research of Industry to determine potential contractors who have the skills, experience, and knowledge required to successfully complete this effort. Hill AFB Utah, F-16 Support Division, Mechanical/Structural Section has requirements for the manufacture and delivery of Two-Place Canopy Actuators for the F-16 Model B/D Aircraft. The primary objective is to establish sufficient manufactures to provide Two-Place Canopy Actuators for all USAF F-16 B/D Model Aircraft. The requirement will be a redesign of the current specification, 16VKO13002. This specification does not meet the desired safety requirements. The redesigned actuator must have an increased load capability and increased mean time between failures within the existing space and housing size restrictions. The redesign must be able to accommodate a simplified overhaul, ie repeatability in rigging. The motormust have thermal protection. Contractors must be able to meet or exceed the necessary requirements along with the requirements of FAR clause 52.219-14, "Limitation on Subcontracting. Potential offerors are requested to provide a summary of the capabilities and facilities they have which will allow them to perform the development and manufacture of the F-16 Two Place Canopy Actuators. The offerors are also requested to provide any other information, which is indicative of their capability to perform. The government does not intend to contract on the basis of this request or otherwise pay for the information solicited. The contracting officer will approve release or distribution of your response.
