The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center (FISC) Regional Contracts Department is soliciting offers for shore power cable with Viking and 90 degree plugs. The cables will be used primarily for submarines and must be equipped with Viking Plug M24368/1 and a 90 degree plug M24368/5. General Marine Products, 62 Columbus Street, Auburn, NY 13021 (315)252-4502 and Cooper Crouse-Hinds, 4758 Washington Street, La Grange, NC (252)566-0260, are both QPL authorized manufactures of these plugs. The government requirement is for 14 each 250 foot lengths of shore power cable which meet MIL-C-915 or standard 500 MCM THOF Type 3 conductor, 600 volts. LOW SMOKE TYPE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. Cable must meet the following minimum technical criteria: 1) Cable must have a nonhygroscopic polypropylene filler; 2) Cable must not have any fiberglass filler; 3) Cable jacket must be at least 1/4 to 5/16 inches thick; 4) Cable plugs must meet MIL-C-24368/5 and MIL-C-24368/1 (most current) and must be manufactured by an authorized QPL company. Offerors must submit a one foot cable sample with their offer. Award will be made to that offeror who meets all minimum technical requirements and offers the overall lowest price.
