This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This request for quotation (RFQ), number 99X521109, is for the purchase and delivery of a one (1) year subscription to eighteen (18) Electronic Reference Library (ERL) CD-ROM Databases and four (4) Non-ERL CD-ROM Databases via a wide-area networking system. The Government knows of only one source, SilverPlatter, Inc., 100 River Ridge Drive, Norwood, MA 02062 capable of satisfying the requirement described herein and intends to negotiate an award on a sole-source basis utilizing simplified acquisition procedures. Solicitation documents, provisions and clauses herein are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-11. The Contractor shall provide the ERL databases for access by three (3) library sites, Parklawn Health Library, Rockville, MD; the NCHS Staff Research Library, Hyattsville, MD; and the AHCPR Information Research Center, Rockville, MD.
