This request for proposal (RFP) involves the structural repair of a concrete parking garage at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. The SIC code is 1791. The estimated cost of construction is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The construction duration is 791 days. The use of silica-fume concrete with a corrosion-inhibiting admixture and adequate air entrapment is required. The work includes; the replacement of structural slabs, reinforcing steel, expansion joints, sealants and waterproofing, the removal and reinstallation of lighting fixtures, installation of temporary lighting, dust control and temporary exhaust fans, protection of the fire suppression system, painting and restriping, and the regrading and landscaping of plaza areas. A best value selection approach will be utilized for this source selection in accordance with the evaluation factors identified in the solicitation. Separate cost and technical proposals will be required with relevant experience and past performance being the most important factors in the technical proposal. All responsible contractors with silica fume concrete experience may submit a proposal.
