POC Contract Specialist, M.M. FLETCHER, (228) 689-8369 The Naval
Oceanographic Office intends to procure on-site maintenance, remedial
and preventative, to keep specified Government owned Information
Technology hardware in good operating condition in accordance with the
Statement of Work and equipment listing to be provided with the
solicitation. All specified Government owned equipment shall be
certified as being in good operating condition at the time of award of
this contract. Equipment to be maintained shall include a large
variety of equipment types, models and manufacturers. There is
approximately 1745 pieces of equipment, which includes various models
of CPUs, servers, disk drives, monitors, digitizers, plotters,
printers, controllers, UPS, scanners, tape drives, tape degaussers
etc., manufactured by companies such as Artecon, Calcomp, Concurrent,
Datum, Digital Equipment Corp., Exabyte, Falcon, Fujitsu, Hewlett
Packard, Silicon Graphics, Sun Microsystems, Versatec, Yamaha,
Megahaus, Laser Master, Iris Graphics, Kennedy, etc., to be maintained.
Contractor will be required to furnish all labor, material, parts,
components, tools maintenance supplies, test equipment, diagnostics,
manuals, schematic drawings etc. necessary for required performance.
Monthly maintenance shall be priced separately for each item of
equipment for 12 months for each period (base and options). In
addition, this order shall allow for services required outside the
principle period of maintenance and for equipment not included in the
specified listing. All services shall be performed at the Naval
Oceanographic Office, located at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi. The
Government shall provide adequate work space, with local telephone
support, for use by contractor maintenance personnel. Access to
classified information may be required, therefore, vendors to be
considered for award are required to have a security clearance to the
level of Secret. This procurement is being conducted on a competitive
basis for commercial items utilizing simplified acquisition procedures
under FAR Subpart 13.5. The anticipated order will be for a base year
plus two (2) one-year option periods. All responsible sources may
submit a proposal which shall be considered by the Naval Oceanographic
Office. The proposed solicitation will require the submission of a
quotation to include prices and written technical proposals. A site
visit, if required, will be scheduled during the week of 02 Aug 1999.
Evaluation of quotations/proposals will be conducted using the greatest
value approach. Requests for copies of Request for Quotations,
N62306-99-Q-B008, which is anticipated to be issued on 16 Jul 1999, are
to be in writing and be directed to the address shown above, to the
attention of M.M. Fletcher. Quotation receipt date is projected to be
