U -- EDUCATION AND TRAINING SERVICES DUE 073099 POC Teresa Hollis (703) 784-1924 The Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA is conducting a market research and requesting information from industry for the procurement of a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software product or system which will provide a comprehensive Marine Corps-wide Training System. This is a request for information only and is not a request for proposals. The Director, Training and Education Division is initiating an effort to redesign existing systems for publishing and implementing individual and collective training standards into a comprehensive Marine Corps-wide system. This single system should provide a decision support tool to determine individual and collective training standards and clearly link them to one another. It should also account for all training resources according to Table of Organization billet requirements to meet those standards, and assist unit commanders in assessing unit readiness. Information is requested regarding sources who have comprehensive knowledge of training systems, resource management processes, and better business practices. Sources should also have knowledge of the Marine Corps total force structure system and how it relates to training standards, and training and readiness reporting requirements. Sources, who believe they have a product or system that could meet the above requirements, (or easily be modified to be able to meet the above requirements) are encouraged to provide specifications, item description, and other pertinent material/information which is indicative of their capabiltiy to provide this service. The information will be used to enable this office to develop an acquisition strategy towards acquiring such a capability. All proprietary information should be marked as such. This Request for Information (RFI)/Sources Sought (SS) Notice is for information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the US MARINE CORPS. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this Request for Information, nor will the Government return the data provided. Sources are invited to submit information packages not later than 30 July 1999.
