Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center intends to contract on a sole source basis with Metric Systems Inc., pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 to obtain an aircraft instrumentation system comprised of five external AIM-9 shaped aircraft pods, four internal plate mounting kits and one ground communications and display station. No other vendor can supply the equipment that can meet the Government's testing requirements. All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered. The purpose and function of the system is to instrument aircraft capable of exceeding a true airspeed of 250 nmph. The instrumentation will gather, log and communicate Time and Space Positioning Information (TSPI), inertial data, 1553 weapons data bus traffic, and test specific serial data. The system will provide an untethered, go anywhere real-time tracking and data recording capability for high speed aircraft. The equipment is to be delivered incrementally beginning 25 March 2000 to AFOTEC/Det 1, 8500 Gibson Blvd SE, Kirtland AFB New Mexico 87117-5558.
