This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The combined Synopsis/Request for Quotation (RFQ) number is DAAE07-99-Q-L002. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-46, dated 17 Mar 97. The associated standard industrial classification code 3949. The requirement is for 40 Canteen Insert Water Purification prototype, that closely meet the operational requirement from CASCOM ORD which was approved in Oct 97. They will be used for government testing. FOB Destination will apply. Provisions at FAR 52.212-3, Provisions at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors Commercial, applies to this acquisition. The following factors shall be used to evaluate offers: i) technical capability of the service offered to meet the Government requirement and ii) price.
