DESC: Firm-Fixed Price Contract, the project provides for additional office/administrative space for the Base Civil Engineer Facility, Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. This project requires interior renovation and remodeling of Building 5595, the existing Base Civil Engineering Facility, in tow separate phases, and the construction of a 16,000 square foot addition, separated by a vestibule. Renovation/remodeling includes removal and replacement of partition walls and interior doors, suspended ceiling grid, tile, and lighting, carpet, and vinyl composition floor tile. New addition will consist of a steel frame and beam structure with concrete ribbed mat slab. New metal roof will match and compliment the existing room. Exterior walls are fluted masonry to match the existing. Interior will consist of open areas suitable for offices of system furniture, restrooms, mechanical room, break room, conference room, a reprographics room, and archives room. Typically, finishes include painted walls, acoustical lay-in ceiling tiles, carpeting and vinyl floor tile. Site work consists of demolition of pavement and site features, and new utility runs, storm drainage, paving, and grading. The plans and specifications will be placed on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and will be provided free of charge. Plans and specifications will not be provided in a paper hard copy format. Notification of amendments shall be made through either 3.5" diskette, CD-ROM, and/or the Internet. The Government intends to issue this solicitation through the use of CD-ROM and the Internet. However, the Government reserves the right to use only the Internet as notification of any changes to this solicitation.
