commercially available dosimetry systems capable of meeting the Navy's
personnel and environmental radiation monitoring needs. This
survey/request for information is for planning purposes only and shall
not be construed as an Invitation For Bid (IFB) or Request For
Proposal (RFP). No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs
or charges by the Government will arise as a result of the submission
of responses or the Government use thereof. Information provided may be
used by the Department of the Navy in developing its acquisition
approach and its Statement of Objectives (SOO). Any manufacturer of
whole body dosimetry systems of any type, i.e. Thermoluminescence,
Optically Stimulated Luminescence, Electronic, etc., that are currently
NVLAP accredited, or accreditation is expected in the next 12 months,
are requested to respond. Responses should provide a detailed technical
description of the system and should include specific dosimetric
performance data in terms of ANSI N13.11 (all categories) and IEC 1066
criteria, if available. Additional system (readers, dosimeters,
irradiators, etc.) information requested is as follows: a.) Specific
ANSI N13.11 categories for which NVLAP accreditation has been received
or is expected. b.) Radiation detection, measurement, and reading
technologies employed c.) Reliability & Maintainability data (MTTR,
MTBF (identify duty cycle), etc.) d.) Physical characteristics e.)
Processing rates f.) Environmental ratings (temperature, pressure,
humidity, vibration, shock, EMI, etc.) g.) Quality Assurance and System
Diagnostics provisions (for hardware and data) h.) Data collection and
management process i.) Dose Algorithm j.) Calibration (time, methods,
supporting hardware, etc.) k.) Other system characteristics and
features l.) Specific catalog listings m.) Warranty information n.)
Logistics support o.) Estimated costs In addition, responses must
include the following: (1) Name and address of firm; (2) Size of
business, i.e., average annual revenues for the past 3 years; and (3)
Ownership, i.e., large, small, small disadvantaged, etc. Point of
