Notice: Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, travel and
supervision for the dredging of Castle Hill Cove at US Coast Guard
Station Castle Hill in Newport, RI. The channel shall be dredged to an
elevation of -9'MLLW within the limits indicated on the drawings. Only
CLAMSHELL DREDGING will be allowed. Due to permit restrictions this
dredging must occur between NOVEMBER 1, 1999 AND JANUARY 15, 2000. In
addition to the dredging activities, the contractor is responsible for
disposal of all dredge spoils in the area indicated behind the station
building. The contractor must place all spoils and provide temporary
cover until the spring. Between April 17th and May 26th, 2000 the
contractor must return to the spoils site, complete preparations of the
soil, and hydroseed all disturbed areas. The work includes Class Shell
Dredging and on-site Disposal of approximately 1185 cubic yards. Loam
-- delivered to the site approximately 50 cubic yards and incidental
related work. Completion Time is 90 calendar days from receipt of the
Notice to Proceed. PAYMENT AND PERFORMANCE BONDS REQUIRED. Estimated
Cost of this project is between $25,000 to $100,000. The Sic Code is

and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has a program to assist
minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to
acquired short-term capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any prime
subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables
firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0
million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT
Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000. For
