B -- REV-INDEPENDENT NEF(+)SIVMAC239 SOL NCI-RFQ-90165-NV DUE 082599 POC Debbie Moore, Purchasing Agent, 301-402-4509, Todd Cole, Contracting Officer 301-402-4509 The National Cancer Institute (NCI) proposes to enter into a purchase order with Advanced Bioscience Laboratories (ABL), Inc., 5510 Nicholson Lane, Kensington, MD, for animal husbandry and testing services. This is a continuation of previous work conducted by ABL for the NCI. Six juvenile macaques were previously infected with Rev-independent Nef(+)SIVmac239. The purpose of this particular procurement is continue support of the animals for an additional year and is prompted by their survival following the initial infection. Survival and health status are imperative and any attempt to move them may cause serious and irreparable harm. Further, moving the animals to another facility would introduce a variable into the study and could possible jeopardize the results of the initial work. This is not a request for competitive proposals. However, interested parties who believe they have this capability and can meet NCI's requirements may submit a capability statement for evaluation. The statement must be in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow NCI to determine if the party can meet the requirement. Further, the vendor must provide a convincing and supportable argument that the health of the animals and the integrity of the initial study will not be jeopardized by moving the animals to another facility.
