The FLIR is the target detection, acquisition and engagement sensor for the Pedestal Mounted Stinger (PMS) [Avenger Weapon System]. The Avenger is a lightweight, highly mobile, day/night fire unit for countering the threat of high speed, close in, low-level, ground attack aircraft.
