NASA GSFC/WFF plans to reissue a Request for Offers for Modification to Fire Protection (Reissue) at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, Wallops Flight Facility, Wallops Island, Virginia 23337. The scope of work for this project shall include, but is not limited to: The design and installation of two complete wet-pipe sprinkler systems, including connection to existing underground water piping; and the installation of smoke detection devices, including connection to an existing fire alarm system at two locations. The replacement of an existing underfloor CO2 suppression system, including replacement of existing piping, nozzles, chemical suppressant storage, and connection to an existing system control panel. The work shall be complete. It includes furnishing, as applicable, or may be required, all contractor's plant, equipment, safety devices, labor, tools, materials, supplies, and services, and performing all operations necessary for or incidental to a complete project in conformity with the drawings and as set forth in the various sections of the specifications. This procurement is being conducted under NASA MidRange Procurement Procedures. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00 and the effort shall be completed within 120 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The Standard Industrial Classification Code for the procurement is 1711. The corresponding size standard is $17,000,000.00. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about August 30, 1999 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about September 30, 1999. The firm date for receipt of offers will be stated in the RFO. Bid packages containing specifications and drawings will be available at a nonrefundable cost of $50.00.
