The Marine Corps Systems Command intends to award a Sole Source Contract to Purified microEnvironments, Inc., a Small Business, for the procurement of 12 Stainless Steel Field Laboratory Fume Hoods, (FHM-3SS) and 12 Filtration Units (SC-1M). The Fume Hoods will incorporate both carbon filtration (076B)and HEPA filtration (12x126B), be capable of generating 100 linear feet per minute air flow across the face of the hood (shield raised to height of 12"), and be modular, with each part being man-portable (weighing less than 100 lbs). Associated equipment includes 10 pre-filters (12x12x2), 150 6" diameter Teflon lined hoses (#N/A), and 12 collapsible hood stands (SBFA-8a). Accelerated delivery schedule requires contractor to provide equipment within 60 days of contract award. No RFP is available for competitive bidding; however, interested small businesses (SIC 3821, 500 employees) should submit a statement of capability for satisfying these requirements no later than close of business on 08/31/99.
