Contractor shall provide services of a Medical Physicist and a Medical Physics Technician to staff the Radiation Safety Program for the VA Northern California Health Care System (VA NCHCS). Medical Physicist shall provide services and average of 10.2 hours per week. Medical Physics Technician shall provide services and average of 8 hours per week. Services to include: a. Oversight of Quality Assurance activities, b. Evaluation of radiology equipment, c. Assessing patient radiation doses, d. Ensuring facility compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations, and State of California Department of Health Services Radiological Health Branch Radioactive Materials license for sharing agreement facility, and e. Other radiation safety or medical physics duties as assigned by the VA Radiation Safety Officer. Contract period 10/1/99 through 9/30/00 with two, one-year options.
