The U. S. Army Soldier, Biological Chemical Command's- Natick Soldier Center (USASBCCOM-NSC) proposes to enter into a sole source contract action with Gerber Garment Technology Inc. of Tolland, CT. This proposed contract action is for a commercial item for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Request for a apparel Computer Aided Designed (CAD) systems which is an specific application of apparel design software. This is the only company who sells this application of the apparel software. The technical support services team currently has an apparel CAD system from Gerber Technology. The hardware must be completely compatible with Pentium workstations, file server and cutting table. This request is to update the balance of the hardware currently in place with Gerber and will include: training, installation, warranty, and maintenance service on a monthly basis for a system life of five (5) years, which will include 1 basic year of 12 months and 4 option periods of 12 months each period not to exceed a total of 60 months.
