Jene', 205-933-4493 The Acquisition Service Center VISN 7 is preparing to procure a claims analysis software package from Ingenix which will accept and review claims for professional services prior to submission to insurance carriers. Ingenix has been selected as its system is the only one that can provide the following minimum required features: corrects coding initiative edits for both inpatient and outpatient professional services; edits can be individually activated and customized by payer; updates are performed quarterly; global periods are addressed for inpatient and outpatient; modifier edits guides are included in the package; a messaging system exists that is used to notify designated staff of inconsistencies for both inpatient and outpatients; the software package has provisions for follow-up on edits/rejections innate within the system for both inpatient and outpatient; performs history checks for global days, newly established patients and duplicates; coding and reimbursement hotline supported 7 days/24 hrs per day; and it has report availability for the biller and provider, flags for claims requiring supporting documentation and sequencing edits.
