The Marine Corps Systems Command intends to negotiate a sole source contract for 3,916 (392 spares )Logistics Vehicle System (LVS) brake modification kits and field installation support with the Nevada Automotive Test Center (NATC), Silver Springs, Nevada. The LVS is comprised of the MK48 (front power unit) and MK14 through MK18 (rear body units). The brake modification will sustain and improve the capability of the LVS fleet, focussing on safety and RAM. NATC designed and tested the LVS brake modification kit under Contract No. N00167-98-C-0017. The LVS, retrofitted with the NATC-designed modification kit configuration, has successfully completed Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 121V-03 Air Brake Systems. Period of Performance for delivery of the LVS break modification will be 12 months from date of contract award. The Period of Performance for field installation support will be no more than 24 months from date of contract award. NATC has designed the LVS break modification kit and is uniquely qualified to provide ongoing technical assistance in support of fielding and installation, quality assurance, and vendor interface within the program schedule.
